Aatifa Timjerdine

Researcher, Morocco

Aatifa Timjerdine, a sociology major, taught philosophy at a secondary school in Rabat before joining the Committee on Human Rights and Citizenship within the Ministry of National Education. She is a member of the women’s association “l’Association Démocratique des Femmes du Maroc » (ADFM) and coordinator of the National Network of Women Victims of Violence (Anarouz). She was also member of the bureau of the Moroccan Association of Teachers of Philosophy from 1993 to 1997. She has participated in many national and international activities dealing with issues related to gender-based violence, gender equality, human rights and leadership.
